Why This Index?
- Smart contract platform momentum with an FNG trigger. The FNG overlay exits to cash during extreme fear, preserving gains through crashes that would destroy raw momentum strategies.
- The fear exit mechanism accounts for most of the improvement over raw momentum. One simple rule — go to cash during panic — transforms the risk profile of trend-following.
- L1 tokens have the highest beta in crypto. Momentum captures their upside; the FNG trigger limits the downside. The combination produces a fundamentally different return distribution.
Investment Objective
Applies 30-day momentum to the top 10 smart contract platforms with a Fear & Greed trigger overlay, rebalanced weekly. During extreme fear, the strategy exits to cash. During neutral or greedy markets, it rides the strongest L1 trends.
